My kid loves JPC and always picks it as #1 choice for going back the next summer. I love picking up an exhausted, happy child at the end of each day and knowing that the whole day was spent outside and doing many activities (canoeing, archery, gaga ball) that we don't generally have the opportunities to do. -Julie Willner - Posted Aug 10, 2023

My daughter absolutely adores this camp every summer, and this year was no exception thanks to the incredible staff and all their hard work to make camp as safe and still fun as possible during COVID. It's the perfect "sleep away camp" experience for kids who aren't quite ready for that kind of thing.

Our son Jack (8yo) has a blast at Josh Powell. I could not believe how much he learned about the game of golf in just one week! Now he asks me to take him to the links all the time. I had no idea how much I could enjoy playing with my son at such a young age. We both love it and it’s good father son bonding time for us!

Great outdoor camp experience! My son loves coming back year after year. He has so much fun with all the activities, swimming, canoeing and especially Gaga-ball. I love he gets to be outside, in nature, unplugged, with great counselors and new friends everyday. So glad you are considering opening 3rd-5th grade camp in the near future.

My daughters are a second generation Josh Powell campers. My girls love the camp as much as daddy! The fact that this camp is a good old fashion camp is amazing and truly one of a kind. My nephew from NYC comes to Georgia in the summer just to attend Josh Powell Camp!!!

We loved camp! It is our favorite for my two boys. They learn so much and get a wonderful experience with outdoor activities, such as hiking, archery, canoe, swimming, etc. we can’t wait to go back !

My son attended for the second time this year. He had a blast and begged me to sign him up for another week! I love that he got a break from technology and was able to have an authentic summer camp experience. Nothing much has changed since I was a camper there 30+ years ago.

My older son went to Josh Powell each summer and this year his little 7 year old brother got to attend for the first time. Although we missed having the bus ride, camp was everything we remembered! I cannot say enough about Josh Powell. The confidence and independence your child learns in a short amount of time is remarkable. Not to mention your kid will not stop talking about how much he loves the camp. It is beyond a 5 star rating in my book. I mean what kid doesn’t like canoeing and archery. This is what kids should be doing in the summer is enjoying the sunshine.

My daughter (7) and son (5) attended two weeks of camp at Josh Powell this summer. Josh Powell Camp is essentially traditional sleep away camp with out the sleep away part! They loved canoeing, swimming, water slide, crafts and just getting to spend time outdoors. They came home each day exhausted and were excited to go back each morning. What else can you ask for in a summer camp!

My oldest son attended Josh Powell several years ago and loved it (both summer & winter sessions) so when my second oldest was old enough I signed him up. He had such a great time and said it was his favorite of all the camps he attended. They didn’t have the buses this summer but it was still worth it for him to have a wonderful outdoor camp experience (away from screens)!

Josh Powell Camp is a very special place! My kids always have the best time (1st and 3rd grade). They love the boatings, swimming and archery. Counselors are always fun and energetic. Thanks for keeping the kids safe during COVID.
