I could not be happier with Dr. Mark Hood. I had been experiencing issues with my right knee for several years. My regular doctor who is with Ascension medical, recommended Dr Hood, despite the fact that he is not with Ascension. That alone speaks volumes about Dr Hoods qualifications and his reputation. Dr Hood has an excellent bedside manner and really listens to what I have to say. My right knee replacement surgery went smoothly and I could not be more pleased with the results. I will and do recommend Dr Hood to others and I will not hesitate to seek his counsel in the future if the need arises.

Dr. Hood, and his Team, made my Hip Replacement Surgery practically enjoyable! From the Prep Class provided before the surgery explaining the procedure, all the way through physical therapy utilizing the My Chart on-line communication portal, for questions I may have had after surgery. My Physical Therapists were also excellent.
MDr Hood and his Team are very intentional about exceptional patient care. Im about also very pleased with my results and wont hesitate to send referrals to Dr. Hood.

Dr. Mark Hood is a wonderful doctor. He is very personable and very easy to talk to. Hes always willing to answer any questions. I came to Dr. Hood, needing a hip replacement and both knees as well. He is so knowledgeable. He was my second opinion and he told me things the first doctor never told me. He was concerned with my overall health. I knew he was the right doctor for me. Its very rare that you find a doctor that cares about you as an individual. Especially when they have so many other patience. Dr. Hood is #1 in my books.

Great staff communication. Switched to Dr. Hood for husband’s hip replacement surgery due to scheduling problems ( both office & surgery date) with surgeon that his doctor referred him to. This office was great in getting him in quickly and had earlier surgery date (not closest hospital). Pre-op education and home PT was not going to happen with other surgeon. Recovery has gone smoothly. Dr. Hood is thorough and took his own measurement X-ray which didn’t happen at other surgeon who is probably very good too, but glad we chose Dr. Hood, He & his staff have been wonderful.

Dr. Hood & his staff was exceptional from start to finish
Hey he explained why he sent me to another place to see if Va. cleanup was needed versus a replacement. Im gonna cleanup, wasnt an option. He never denied my replacement.
My experience with hood has been remarkable in my surgery.When excellent.If I had to do it again, mark would be the man. Thanks mark and all your staff for the exceptional service that you provided to me and my family.

My pre and post surgery experiences with Dr. M. Hood could not have been better. Compared with a prior total shoulder procedure (different state) this was better in all respects. As a retired Mechanical Engineer I had a lot of somewhat technical questions which he answered very thoroughly. Both his demeanor, thoroughness and his bedside manner put my prep op concerns to rest. I am very happy and somewhat surprised by how easily I can now walk six weeks post surgery with virtually zero pain. Also, all of the hospital staff throughout my care have been excellent.

Dr Hood and his team at Community Hospital were outstanding throughout my left hip replacement. From the initial consultation to the surgery and follow-up care, everything was handled with professionalism and compassion. My recovery exceeded expectations—within five days post op, I was about 80% back to normal and completely pain-free. I had my right hip replaced about 5 years ago by a different surgeon with good results, but my experience with Dr Hood was significantly better. I highly recommend Dr. Hood and his team.
