We own a brick home in St. Louis built in 1908 with the original stone foundation and had a number of concerns when we engaged St. Louis Radon to mitigate our basement radon issue: could they design a solution that reduced the level of radon to acceptable levels given the condition of our basement floor and stone walls? Would the solution stand out like a sore thumb on the exterior wall of our 3 story house in such a beautiful old neighborhood with tree lined streets? Would the pipe runs in the basement get in the way of our laundry, home gym and workshop areas further reducing the headroom or taking up valuable floor space? On all 3 concerns we are extremely satisfied. The exterior vertical run required going through 3 courses of brick over a hundred years old to reach the outside wall of the building where there is a mature hedge owned by our neighbor right in the way of where the fan was installed and a ladder had to be placed for the vertical pipe install up beyond the roof line. So the piping and fan work was not easy for them while minimizing the pruning of the neighbor’s hedge and working in such a confined space both inside and out. But by placing it there the whole system almost disappears for anyone outside the basement (we will probably paint the pipe black to match our gutters next time we paint exterior trim and the fan just disappears behind the hedge). On the basement laundry room area the solution just blends in along with our existing plumbing stack taking up no additional floor or overhead space. They were quick to provide an online quote and estimated install date, prompt on arrival on both day of install and day to pickup test equipment and provided fast formal results next business day. We are so happy that our problem is resolved and would be glad to work with any member of their team again in the future whether this house or any other we own in the St. Louis area: highly recommend!

Part of the pre-sale inspection of our house included radon testing by St. Louis Radon. The average was below the point at which mitigation would have been necessary but too high for our comfort, so we had them come back and put in a mitigation system at our expense. Turns out there weren't a lot of options for placement, but the techs took their time to find the best option. The results were beyond our expectations, and the peace of mind is worth every penny (and it really wasn't all that expensive). I can't say enough good things about this company.

St. Louis Radon was great from start to finish! We were admittedly uneducated about how to mitigate a clear radon problem in a property that already had a mitigation system in place. SLR was very flexible in the timing of setting the testing device, and then in getting us scheduled for technicians to come to evaluate the system once the high levels were determined and confirmed. When they arrived, they assessed the system very quickly and came up with a reasonable solution for us. They were friendly and took a great deal of patience in answering my questions, as well as suggesting solutions for now and for the future! Don't fall for the temptation to use another individual or company because of price or any other reason. It'll cost you more in the long run. Trust me! Choose St. Louis Radon first! The original installation was going good until the installer cut a electrical wire. Had to wait for an Electricion to repair the cut wire.
I was responsible for half the cost of the electrical work.
I was rescheduled to finish the installation. Finally the install was completed. The finished job looked good. Installers forgot to install the critter cap. Returned the following day to install and pickup the two radon meters. Randon meters read .07 which was below the original readings of 5.0
Overall I was satisfied with the installation.

Our two technicians called and arrived promptly on the scheduled day. Mike walked me through the entire process before they started and answered all of my questions. It took roughly 3 hours for my radon fan to be installed. They did an excellent job with the install. You can't even tell they disturbed the concrete to install the piping. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a radon unit.

John and Ben did a very good job installing the radon mitigation system. They were on time, courteous, and were done within 4 hours of arrival. John explained the process and gave us information regarding about how the system worked and that it should work even with the basement waterproofing that we had recently had done. I had previously purchased a radon monitor online and had been tracking the radon levels in our basement for 4 weeks prior to the installation so that I could determine if the mitigation had an impact. The device I purchased reflected the same levels that were found when we had a professional service do radon testing when we bought the home 2 months ago, so I believe that the monitor works as it should. Within 44 hours of turning on the fan, our level went from 16+ down to 1.01. So I believe that the mitigation is working as it should be. My only advise is to do a measurable amount of consideration about the location of the fan and size of fan. We decided on a larger fan due to the levels of radon that had been detected and due to the type of waterproofing that we had done. As it was, the fan was installed in the corner of the basement just outside of the master bedroom and the sound level is just a bit more than we expected. I now wonder if the pipe to the outside should have been done by drilling a hole in the foundation wall rather that the joist on top of the foundation wall (that is the way our sump pump is installed). My thought is that part of the sound might be due to vibration on wood rather than concrete. I recommend this business for your radon needs, but make sure you take these kinds of things into account before installation.
